How to make your own canvass panel board (by Jen Utleg Consumido)

1. Stretch canvas on frame



2.Prime canvas with acrylic gesso or oil primer. dry completely and remove from stretcher frame.



3. Cut your desired size of rigid board. it may be 1/8" marine plywood. in this case i used a thick chipboard as sample.



4. Lay canvas primed side down on a flat surface then place board on top and cut appropriate canvas size. be sure to leave enough excess cloath around the boaard





5. Cut excess clothe at the corners of canvas.



6. Apply thin coat of acrylic gel medium to bond board and canvas.



7. Clamp or apply weight until dry.

 

8. Finally glue the flaps at the back of the board. cover the bare area with acid-free paper then secure with craft tape.
